TEASING
Molly Bradford was 10 years old, she was very friendly when you got to know her but other than that she was very shy. She loved school but there was just one BIG problem… HER EARS! Molly was in fourth grade and she got teased a ton about her ears because they stuck out so much. She not only got teased by her classmates but by other people in the school. She would go home and cry to her mom all the time, but her mom would just say what every mother would say to her child, “Molly don’t listen to them, you are perfect just the way you are.” But Molly knew otherwise she knew her ears were big and that she was know were near being perfect.
By the time Molly was a sixth grader she thought the teasing had finally stopped, but she was wrong, there was an assembly one day and when Molly walked into the gym she saw her big brother Robert so she waved at him, he saw her and just started laughing as the kid next to his left stuck his hands to his ears and flapped them back and forth like he was trying to resemble Dumbo the elephant. That night when she told her mom she finally realized how much pain this was causing Molly so her mom said, “if you get teased one more time you can have surgery to have them pulled back.” Which nobody should ever have to do to make other people happy.
Sure enough one day in the seventh grade the teacher was giving a lesson up in front of the class when he decided to tease molly in front of everyone. Molly ran out of the class crying, she tried so hard not to let it bother her but when you hear stuff like that from an adult it’s kind of hard to just ignore it. Even though Molly could have went in and gotten surgery she held off and hoped for the best, Molly hoped everything would finally get better.
Eighth grade year came rolling around and Molly was still getting teased. Molly thought long and hard and finally went to her mom and said, “If I don’t get something done about my ears now next year in high school will be torture because everyone will be making fun of me.” So the next day Molly's mom made an appointment for surgery and molly went through with it a couple weeks later in April. The next couple days Molly went back to school all wrapped up in bandages when her class saw her they were stunned that she had gone to such extremes just to be left alone and accepted. Sometimes you just don’t know what some people will do after always being teased. Molly gave a speech about it in her class and by the end of it most of the class was in tears.
Teasing is NEVER a good choice. Nobody is perfect we all have flaws.

Summary for "Race with Buffalo" Indian myth
Race With Buffalo

This was a myth of the Cheyenne Indians. It was a time when all animals lived in peace and nobody ate anybody. All the animals in the Great Plains were the same color because they hadn’t painted their faces yet. The buffalo was the largest and strongest animal, he felt he should be chief and be able to eat other animals. On the other hand the human people felt the same way; they felt the should be the chief of all animals. So the buffalo challenged the humans to a little race in which the winner would become the chief of all the animals.
The people accepted the challenge; however they said it wouldn’t be fair since buffalo have four legs and the people only had two. Therefore, the buffalo agreed to let the people pick an animal to race for them. As a result the people chose the Bird People to represent them in the race. They chose Hummingbird, Meadowlark, Hawk, and Magpie. Immediately afterwards all the other animals decided they wanted to try and win to be the chief of all animals so they joined the race too. In fact that’s how all animals got their own colors because they all painted their faces according to their spiritual vision for the race.
The race was held at Black Hills at a place called Buffalo Gap. The animals raced from the starting sticks to a turn around stick and back. It was a very close race even though some of the birds had very small wings. As a result of the race the Magpie ended up winning the race for the humans therefore the Buffalo wandered the Great Plains and ate grass while the people became the great hunters, the chief of all animals.

12 Acedemic Vocabulary
A myth is a traditional sacred story, typically revolving around the activities of gods and heroes, which explain a natural phenomenon or cultural practice. An example of a myth could be the love story of Pyramus and Thisbe.
A hero is a founder of something new. An example of a hero is Hercules; he became the most famous hero and returned to Mount Olympus safely.
A hero’s journey is a Boon to be shared when heroes face critical decisions; Cyclical returns home, internal conflict, and transformation. An example of a hero’s journey would be Perseus adventure to kill Medusa.
Universal is something that’s understood by many, it is the big picture and is worldwide.Hercules would also be an example in universal because he lived on earth like everyone else, he was inspirational, and imperfect.
Archetype is the original type. First of its class or model. An example would be the Sky God.
Life from death is like forest fires. When something dies something is born from it. When Tiamat was killed she was turned into the heavens and earth so she died but something was created from that.
Matriarchal is a society with women having all the power and authority. An example of matriarchal would be Mother Earth.
Patriarchal is a society where only men have the power and authority. An example of patriarchal would be Father Sky.

Interpretive essay
Pyramus and Thisbe
“Love cannot be forbidden. The more that flame is covered up, the hotter it burns. Also love can always find a way.”(105) that is what it says in the tale of Pyramus and Thisbe and I believe it is true.
I believe this myth is important because I think everyone should be able to love who they choose I think it should never be forbidden because they will find a way to be together in the end whether you approve or disapprove.
Pyramus was known as the most beautiful youth in the entire east. He lived in Babylon in a house pretty much connected to the house of his true love. The only thing that separated them was a tiny wall, they were glad they could at least talk back and forth through the wall but they hated it because it wouldn’t allow them to touch.
Thisbe was the name of Pyramus’s love she was known as the loveliest maiden in the east. She planned to marry Pyramus but their parents forbade it. So they made a plan to sneak away together so the could be free. They decided that when the sun sank they would meet at the Tomb of Ninus under a tall mulberry tree filled with white snowberries.
So finally the sun went down and Thisbe was under the mulberry tree but there was no sign of Pyramus, she waited there patiently until she saw a lioness that had just made a kill walking to the stream to get a drink. Thisbe ran and hid from the lioness but she dropped her cloak on the ground. The lioness found the cloak and ripped it up leaving bloodstains and dirt all over it. A while later Pyramus came and saw her cloak ripped to shreds and automatically assumed that the lioness had killed Thisbe, so he blamed him self and took his own life with his sword and when Thisbe returned she saw him lying there dead and realized what had happened so she too took the sword and killed her self so they could be together.
This is why no love should be forbidden because they will always find away to be together even if its in death, if the parents wouldn’t have forbade them to get married that wouldn’t have happened. All they wanted was to be together.
